The Leather Lair

Originally founded as Cloaks of Avalon, Suzanne Mayer has worked tirelessly to build her dream of being a small business owner. With a background as a designer and seamstress for various leather companies, she always envisioned something greater for herself and her daughter.

Starting her own business from home, Suzanne quickly found success. She began traveling to Renaissance faires and conventions to showcase and sell her handcrafted leather goods. As The Leather Lair grew in popularity, Mayer proudly became a sponsor of the band Coyote Run.

Taking on more custom work, Suzanne expanded her offerings and established The Leather Lair as a well-known and beloved presence throughout the East Coast and Midwest. Today, with over 25 years in business, her company continues to thrive—built on a foundation of creativity, dedication, and community.

At the leather lair we strve to make each customer their happiest and most kick ass version of themselves. As a size inclusive company we range in sizes 5XL- XS and even make custom sizing for those with unique bodies. everyone has place at the leather lair.
